Dyson Flat Out Head Tool comes with the cleaning attachment and with small, plastic adapter (not always required).
Tool is suitable for cleaning various surfaces like low-pile carpets, hardwood, tiles and similar. It is not well suited for high-pile carpets and rugs.
Unit is thin (flat out) and its height is only ~1/2 inch (~1.3 cm) at the edges, 1 inch (~2.5 cm) for center section, and around 1 1/5 inch (3.8 cm) for wheels section. If you do need even ‘thinner’ cleaning tool, go for flexible, extendible crevice or similar tool.
Although it doesn’t have rotating brush bar or anything similar like, for example Dyson Tangle Free Turbine, it does good job of cleaning even pet and human hair. Of course, cleaning tools designed and optimized for such dirt, simply clean hair better.
Also, Dyson Articulating Hard Floor Tool does better job on hard floors, but it cannot reach under furniture and appliances as Dyson Flat Out Head Tool can.
Due to very low profile, tool can have issues in cleaning larger debris, but if the tool is angled or even positioned onto the dirt, it will get sucked easily.
Dyson Flat Out Head Tool is lightweight and easy to maneuver around obstacles, furniture, corners, edges and similar.
