Dyson 360 Eye Specifications and Features
Dyson 360 Eye weighs 5.38 lbs (~2.43 kg), and is rather small – its dimensions (HxWxD) are 4.72 x 9.52 x 9.05 inches (~12 x 24 x 23 cm).
Charging time is ~2h and 30 minutes, with run time at full power around 40 minutes. Dirt bin is transparent and one can easily see the amount of dirt in it.
Air filtration is based on the tested Radial Root Cyclone technology, based on Dyson’s V2 digital motor.
Dyson 360 Eye uses full width brush bar for cleaning various surfaces.
This robot vacuum cleaner got its name from the 360° vision system which can see a full panoramic view of the area. Vision system takes 30 images per second and using Simultaneous Localization and Mapping (SLAM) software creates a 360° panoramic view used to identifies key features of the area to triangulate its position in real time. This system enables vacuum to always know where it is, where it’s been and where it’s yet to clean.
This mapping feature prevents cleaning of the same spot over and over again.
Dyson 360 Eye comes with the Dyson Link app (available for both iOS and Android) which is used to start, pause and stop vacuum cleaner, to schedule cleaning, to choose operating mode etc. User interface is rather intuitive, but before first use, be sure to read the documentation that comes with the unit. The Dyson Link app can be used to automatically download updates for robot’s software.
For maximum surface coverage, the motorized brush bar and suction channel span the full width of the unit.
In order to remove fine dust from hard floors and ground-in dirt from carpets, brush bar has soft anti-static carbon fiber filaments and stiff nylon bristles.
Dyson 360 Eye offers two suction power modes designed for different tasks – MAX Power mode is suitable for deep cleaning, while Quiet Power mode is suitable for light cleaning but it is up to 35% quieter. MAX Power mode drains battery within 40 minutes, while Quiet mode prolongs single battery charge operation up to 75 minutes (almost double).
As with all other features, cleaning mode is controlled via the Dyson Link app.
Unit comes with ‘Charging Dock’ – it stores and recharges Dyson 360 Eye when needed. Unit is more than smart enough to detect low battery condition and to return to the Charging Dock for battery charging. Charging dock should be positioned in well-lit, clutter-free areas, where it can be easily found by the unit – be sure that black-white squares are clearly visible.
A series of infrared proximity sensors enables the unit to detect and avoid obstacles and drops – it will not hit the walls and furniture and will not fall down the stairs.
To maintain speed and direction across all floor surfaces, and to overcome smaller obstacles, Dyson 360 Eye is not equipped with wheels, but with tank-like tracks. Tracks provide strong grip and enables good maneuverability, but the unit is not able to clean the stairs or go up and down the stairs.
Dyson 360 Eye is suitable for cleaning various surfaces like hard floors and low-pile carpets, but to perform at its best, cleaned area should be properly lit, with no large objects and similar obstacles, floors should be dry (moisture can damage the robot) and without loose material.
When brush bar gets entangled in loose material and hair, it is simple to pop the roller off and clean any hair, fur, fibers etc.
Dyson 360 Eye comes with two year warranty. Before first use, it is highly recommended to read the documentation that came with the unit and to register the unit on Dyson’s official web site.

With a degree in engineering, Kathryn Hansen loves to write about how things work. Having her own dilemmas on how to pick the best vacuum cleaner for her large family (with a handful of furry four-legged members as well), Kathryn decided to help others in the same situation. After all, vacuum cleaners are critical to a healthy lifestyle and people have a hard time choosing the best one for their needs.
The Dyson 360 Eye is small but tall meaning it can get into tighter corners than any other robotic vacuum cleaner we’ve tested before. That height though does stop it going under certain bits of furniture.
