Bissell 3624 SpotClean is NOT a steam cleaner – one can use warm water (please, read the manual before using it for the first time) to improve cleaning, but not only that it is not steam cleaner, but it doesn’t even have a water heater.
Bissell 3624 SpotClean comes with 6 inch (15 cm) stair tool and 3 inch (7.6 cm) tough stain tool and these tools are not motorized. The bristles in the included brush tools clean surfaces deep, but it is the user who must scrub the surface with cleaning tool. This can be little bit annoying and time consuming, but it gives user better control regarding cleaning – good for sensitive surfaces.
No motorized cleaning tools and no water heater – is Bissell 3624 SpotClean worth money and time? Actually, it does and it does its job very well.
Unit is equipped with very strong motor (little less than 6 Amps) and in combination with its small size (WxDxH – around 14x14x10 inches – around 35.6×35.6×25.4 cm), relatively long power cord (22 feet – 6.7 m), good cleaning formula and flexible, 5 feet (1.5 m) hose, it can reach and thoroughly clean various messes which kids and pets can make.
Two Tank System
Bissell 3624 SpotClean is lightweight spot cleaner and weighs 13.2 pounds (~ 6kg) when empty.
It has two tanks: one tank for clean water and cleaning formula and second tank for dirty water.
Clean water/cleaning formula tank has 3/4 gallons (96 ounces, 2.84 l) and when this tank is full, Bissell 3624 SpotClean weighs around 19 pounds (little less than 9 kg). Since it doesn’t have transport wheels, if you need to carry it around much, don’t fill it all the way.

In order to clean thoroughly, it is vital to use a cleaning formula, since water alone can clean stains and spots, but not so well. Of course, one doesn’t have to use Bissell’s cleaning formulas, but they are designed for use with Bissell’s cleaners and although they are not the cheapest ones, personally, they are highly recommended.

Fast Carpet Drying Time
After cleaning, carpets are wet not soggy and they dry rather fast. Bissell 3624 SpotClean has very good suction – vacuum cleaner with 6 Amps motor using 6 or 3 inch wide suction nozzle creates rather strong suction leaving very little water in the carpets.
Long story short – Bissell 3624 SpotClean Professional Portable Carpet Cleaner is excellent carpet spot cleaner. It is lightweight, compact, has very good suction, good cleaning tools, it is easy to store when not in use, has two high capacity tanks. It doesn’t have wheels, so it can’t be towed/pushed around. However, it is also more stable and has less moving parts leading to reduced weight and more durable unit.
With price under $150, it is also very affordable carpet cleaner.
